This past Saturday the Regional High School Symphonic and Concert bands performed in Freeport Tx. The two bands consists of the best of the best from high schools in the area. Hats off to Fulshear High school who had twenty nine band students that made Regionals which was more than any of the other high school bands in their region.
I had the pleasure of attending the performance and it was beautifully done. Even more impressive is that they were performing college level pieces that they had learned in only nine hours. I am so impressed by these young adults they are such hardworking and talented musicians.
The students in Symphonic band also competed this past month for a spot on the State’s High School Band. Two students from our region made State, a flutist from Industrial High school and Fulshear’s own Aaron Hart who plays the oboe. This is Aaron’s second year paying in the High School State Band. Way to go Aaron. Aaron will be joining others from around the State in San Antonio for the State band’s performance.
Next up for Fulshear’s band is Solo and Ensemble which I know they will do great. Good luck guys.
